Phase 3 of Gradual Lifting of COVID-19 Restrictions in Qatar Continues
Qatar has deferred the implementation of the last and final phase of the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions and announced the continuation of the Phase 3 Guidelines instead for the month of August.
According to the announcement, the Ministry of Public Health said that they are continually monitoring key performance indicators to ensure a balance between the continuity of providing protection to the population and restoring social and economic life to normal.
The Ministry also called on those who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination and have not yet been vaccinated to take the initiative to receive the vaccination as soon as possible to protect themselves and others.

Infection rate and vaccination programme
In recent weeks, the combined impact of COVID-19 restrictions and increasing vaccination rates has resulted in a consistent reduction in the number of new daily infections in the country.
New confirmed cases during Phase 3 remain below 200 average daily with almost 100% recovery.
As of this week, over 3.7 million doses of vaccine have been administered since the country started its National Vaccination Programme.

Travel and Quarantine Policy
Qatar’s strict travel and quarantine policy are major factors to how the country was able to control the entry of more transmissible variants. Despite the phased transition to normal, international travel to and from Qatar still follows strict procedures.
Travellers to the country are classified following the COVID-19 status of their country of origin – Green, Yellow and Red. Fully vaccinated residents and nationals can now travel and return to Qatar without having to undergo the mandatory quarantine, following certain requirements. Except for the additional documents which you need to prepare and show on your return, travelling is now more accessible for Qatar’s expatriate population.
