Police College Sign Cooperation Agreement with British Council to Teach English
The Police College signed a cooperation agreement with British Council to teach the English language to students of the College.
The agreement was signed on Thursday 26 March 2015 at the Police College by Brigadier Dr Muhammad Abdullah Al Mohanna Al Marri, Director General of the College and Amanda Ingram, Director of English Language Services at British Council. The signing was attended by Major Dr Jaber Hamoud Al Noaimi, Director of Administrative and Economic Affairs of the College, Professor Dr Hussain Fathi, Dean of Academic Affairs, Professor Dr Diab Al Badaniya, Head of General Requirements Section at the College and Hosnain Ramji, Director of Corporate Education at British Council.
According to Dr Muhammad Abdullah Al Mohanna Al Marri, Director General of the College, the agreement was intended to raise the language and communication skills of the college students in order to befit them highly qualified professionally. In addition, Professor Amanda Ingram expressed her pleasure on signing the agreement saying that the British Council has clear plan to implement the agreement that would raise the capability of the students.
The Police College was inaugurated on 19 March 2015 by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani inaugurated Police College. The opening ceremony started with the national anthem followed by military parade performed by the students. The Director General of the Police College Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah Al Muhana Al Marri, who delivered introductory speech, said that the opening of the college is a great achievement to be added to other great accomplishments made by Qatar in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. The college had admitted 115 Qatari students and others 23 from other Arab countries in its first batch.
