Five regional premieres will launch a sensational Motor Show for Porsche.
Building on a hugely successful 2013 which saw record sales across the Middle East, Porsche is sparking a new age of performance excellence. Sure to set hearts racing will be the 918 Spyder, showcasing Porsche’s most innovative technological achievements. The 918 Spyder leads the field as the world’s first hybrid super race car with a system output of 887 hp, goes from zero to 100 kph in 2.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 345 km/h.
Speaking ahead of the 2014 Qatar Motor Show Christer Ekberg, Managing Director of Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE, said:
2013 was a very special year for the brand, with exciting model introductions, the celebrations around the 911 as well as the significant increase in our new car deliveries. That said, with the sheer depth of stunning new models set for launch in 2014, we can’t help but be excited about what the year holds and it all starts in Qatar.’
The pioneering all-new Macan leads the charge in the compact SUV segment this year. all-new Macan is poised to set new standards in the field of driving dynamics and enjoyment, both on and off the road. The Macan Turbo promises to be the most powerful vehicle in the compact SUV segment. The brand new 3.6-litre V6 biturbo engine achieves an unrivalled 400 hp and catapults the vehicle from 0 to 100 kph in 4.6 seconds, when equipped with the Sport Chrono package.
Also on the stand will be the brand’s latest modern classic, the stunning 911 Targa 4S, boasting unique state-of-the-art roof technology which shapes one of the most recognisable 911s. The new model features the characteristic wide bar in place of the B-pillars, a movable roof section above the front seats and a wraparound rear window with no C-pillar. But unlike the classic models, the roof segment on the new Targa can be opened and closed at the push of a button, providing a real spectacle. The model delivers 400 hp and can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
The Qatar Motor Show 2014 will also allow the motoring industry and enthusiasts from across the Middle East a first look at two more of Porsche’s latest automotive benchmarks. The new Cayenne Platinum Edition takes the athletic SUV into a new realm of sports comfort, while for the first time ever a long wheelbase Executive version of the powerful and luxurious Panamera Turbo S makes it regional debut. With a wheelbase that has been extended by 15 centimetres, the model offers significantly more space and further enhanced comfort, particularly in the rear passenger compartment.
Porsche’s latest innovation and diverse range will be on display at the Qatar Motor Show 2014, which will take place from 21 to 25 February 2014 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
