Health officials confirmed that all healthcare facilities under Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and Qatar Red Crescent, will be open ‘as usual’ throughout FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, with their full range of healthcare services available to patients.

Chair of the Supreme Committee for Healthcare Communications, Ali Al Khater, explained that none of the current road closures or changes will prevent patients from accessing any hospitals, health centres or clinics.

He said that the public healthcare sector will continue to offer a full range of services to patients during the FIFA World Cup™, as they are committed to ensuring patient care is unaffected during the tournament period.

We advise patients to plan their routes carefully and allow for additional time to get to their appointments – especially for facilities located near the Corniche area or if visiting facilities close to stadiums hosting matches on the day of their visit.

To make it easier for patients to access health services during this period, both HMC and PHCC are offering more virtual appointments, where clinically appropriate, to patients who wish to have their outpatient consultation in the comfort of their homes rather than actually going to a hospital or clinic.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, HMC and PHCC have significantly increased the use of telemedicine consultations and virtual services. These remote services proved very successful, with high rates of patient satisfaction.

For more information on virtual appointments, patients can contact the HMC customer service team Nesma’ak at 16060 or the PHCC Hayyak team, at 107.

HMC and PHCC patients can also request to have their medication, medical reports, medical consumables, and dietary products delivered to their homes by Qatar Post for a fee of only QAR20. To request this delivery service, call 16000.
