Color Runners are quickly filling up the slots for the sixth edition of The Color Run, presented by Sahtak Awalan: Your Health First, an initiative of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q). Packs are selling out fast for the Happiest 5k on the Planet, taking place this Saturday, 25 January at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
The Color Run encourages everyone to discover the fun side of exercise and pay it forward to those in need. Participants get to enjoy the positive vibes and the cheerful and very colourful surroundings while walking, jogging, skipping or running – knowing that a portion of the event’s proceeds will be supporting out-of-school children, for the Together education project in Qatar.
This year’s Love Tour theme will bring family and friends together and will take them on an unforgettable experience, getting soaked in bright colours as they move from one station to the next throughout the 5k course.
The fun continues at the Finish Festival, a larger-than-life party with music, photo opportunities, activity booths, vendors, and more massive colour throws, with millions of vivid colour combinations!
The 2019 edition welcomed over 10,000 Color Runners, and this Saturday’s event is expected to be even bigger! Color Runners in Doha vary in age, nationality, physical fitness and reasons for running. With no winners or official times, the event caters to everyone including first time runners to seasoned athletes. More than half of the participants are first-time 5K runners.
The last few Participant Packs are available online from thecolorrun.qa. The packs are also available for purchase from Géant Hypermarket at Hyatt Plaza, from 4 pm to 8 pm (until Thursday, 23 January) and from 2 pm to 10 pm (on Friday, 24 January).
Since its inception in 2012, The Color Run has become a global phenomenon, experienced by over seven million people worldwide in 40+ countries. It has donated a total of US$5 million to charity globally.
