Local Audi customers of different nationalities have registered for the tournament, reaching a total of 144, with more than 18 of those being Qatari.
The Audi quattro Cup Golf Tournament Series was established in 1991. In 2013, Audi dealers from 52 different countries worldwide organised a total of 965 tournaments and over 100,000 amateur golfers participated. More than 1.4 million golfers have taken part in an Audi quattro Cup tournament during the last 23 years.
The Doha Golf Club will be accommodating the one-day event in Qatar, where participants will kick off the tournament early morning, playing at one of the largest golf courses in Doha. Two shotguns (five hours each) are scheduled to last throughout the day, concluding with the announcement of the winners in the evening. General Sales and Marketing Manager at Audi Qatar, Mohamed Talkhawi, said:
We’re excited to bring the Audi quattro Cup to Qatar, as it has successfully established itself as a sports capital by becoming increasingly engaged in hosting and supporting many acclaimed sports events. We believe this foregrounds the commitment Audi and Qatar share in supporting the Human Development pillar of the nation’s National Vision of 2030. Audi has also hosted this tournament all over the world for decades and continuously strives to upgrade the tournaments in terms of size, skill and atmosphere. We highly value this event as it invites all Audi owners to compete, yet share an experience together. We are particularly impressed with having more than 18 Qatari participants and are very excited to see how the tournament will end.’
During the game, 15 Audi models will be showcased at the course, including the A6, Q5, A8 and RS7 amongst others. The winning team announced will be qualified to represent Qatar at Audi’s quattro Cup World Final 2014 in December in Dubai.
