Qatar Airways Celebrates The Oscars this February with Oscar-Nominated Inflight Entertainment
Qatar Airways has announced a schedule of five-star inflight entertainment for its passengers onboard its flights during February 2015 to celebrate The Oscars, which takes place in Los Angeles on Sunday 22 February 2015.
This year’s Oscar nominees Gone Girl, Whiplash and Nightcrawler will all make their debut on board Qatar Airways’ Oryx inflight entertainment system, which is updated every month to give passengers a wide range of the latest movies, music and TV programmes to enjoy during their journey. Big Hero 6 and The Boxtrolls, both nominated for Best Animated Feature at this year’s Oscars, will also be available to keep younger passengers entertained.
A hand-picked collection of previous Oscar greats has also been carefully chosen to provide passengers with the ultimate selection of all-time movie classics for their enjoyment. From favourites such as One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Rocky and Annie Hall to The Departed, The Artist and The King’s Speech, there is something for everyone to settle back and enjoy while they experience Qatar Airways’ five-star service on board.
February’s line up of world entertainment also includes the Bollywood hit Mary Kom starring Priyanka Chopra. Qatar Airways will be the first and only Middle East airline to exclusively feature this biopic, which tells the story of the five-time world champion, Asian gold medallist Indian woman boxer.
The Arabic TV content for February has also been updated to include the first 15 episodes of Ekhwat Al Damm, the Bedouin drama series that aired during Ramadan 2014. This series is showing on Qatar Airways before any other airline. Three episodes of the latest season of the famous comedy show, Wifi, which was shown during Ramadan 2014, will also debut on board Qatar Airways.
In recognition of National Sports Day, which takes place in Qatar on 10 February 2015, Qatar Airways has also chosen two shows that have a focus on sports in the country, to feature this month. The first takes a look at the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge that took place in the GCC, with an emphasis on the three race rounds in Doha and a focus on the Qatari rally champion, Nasser Al Attiyah. The second is a series of episodes from Kossat Tahadi that also centre around Nasser Al Attiyah.
These additions to February’s programme of entertainment are, of course, an extension of the already existing extensive library of content on board Qatar Airways, which includes full box sets of movies such as the Harry Potter series; The Lord of the Rings trilogy; The Dark Knight trilogy; the X-Men series; the Matrix series; the Aliens titles and all the Twilight movies.
Qatar Airways provides its passengers with access to a wide range of entertainment options, including movies, TV, games and audio on Oryx Entertainment each month. From the latest Hollywood premieres to the best of Bollywood, Arabic blockbusters, children’s films, cinema classics, and much more, Oryx Entertainment offers passengers hours of enjoyment in the sky.
