Qatar Airways celebrated its sponsorship of the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM by hosting a fun face painting event recently at the Royal Grammar School, Guildford in Qatar (RGS).

QR mascots at RGSYoung students showcased their team spirit by choosing their favourite football team flags and had it painted on their faces by professional face painters. Qatar Airways’ Oryx Kids Club mascots Orry and Orah the oryx and their three furry friends – Kamil the camel, Faaiz the falcon and Farah the desert fox – also made a special appearance.

The visit, hosted by RGS, offered students the opportunity to learn more about how sports and travel bring people together. The experience was also aligned with the school curriculum’s topic of travel, in which students interacted with the Oryx Kids Club characters, who demonstrated the importance of being leaders and global explorers.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President for Marketing and Corporate Communications Salam Al Shawa, said they are thrilled to celebrate the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM with young travellers in Qatar, who were given a taste of the World Cup excitement within their classrooms in Doha. She said that they continually strive to engage with young children, whom she said are leaders of the future.

This event was also a great opportunity to share our exciting new characters and highlight our interest in ensuring that travel is a fun and educational experience for young travellers. Orry, Orah and their three furry friends will help make every flight with Qatar Airways even more enjoyable for children and families.’

RGS Principal Alistair Downs, said they were delighted to welcome Qatar Airways to the school to celebrate the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM.
