The first Qatar Airways direct non-stop flight from Doha to Málaga this week touched down at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, where it was welcomed by a celebratory water cannon salute.
The flight was greeted by Qatar Airways Country Manager for Iberian Peninsula Marimar Laveda, and Málaga Airport Director Salvador Merino.
Málaga is a beautiful and cosmopolitan city nestled along Spain’s Costa del Sol in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia. The charming coastal city is known for its magnificent climate all year round. Málaga offers a wide variety of activities for visitors to enjoy, such as exploring the historic Roman fort, basking on one of Málaga’s Mediterranean beaches or visiting one of its many museums.
According to Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker, Málaga offers so much for holidaymakers, from its magnificent beaches to its spectacular Andalusian architecture. He said that their new direct services to Málaga are timed perfectly to coincide with the summer holiday season.

Qatar Airways’ new four-times weekly seasonal services to Málaga will be served with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner until 16 September 2018, featuring 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class. Qatar Airways currently operates direct double-daily flights to Madrid and Barcelona.
