Qatar Airways is proud to welcome the new Expo 2023 Doha livery to its fleet and commemorate its role as the Official Strategic Partner for the landmark event.

The unveiling represents a celebration of the readiness of Qatar Airways and Hamad International Airport (HIA)  to host a global gathering focused on environmental awareness. The aircraft, an A330-300 adorned with the Expo 2023 Doha livery, was unveiled by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, HE Akbar Al Baker at HIA.

The event was also attended by high-profile dignitaries, including Ashghal President HE Dr Engineer Saad Ahmed Al Mohannadi, HIA Chief Operating Officer Engineer Badr Mohammed Al Meer, Expo 2023 Doha  Secretary-General Engineer Mohamed Ali al-Khouri and a number of senior management officials from Qatar Airways and Expo 2023 Doha.

Qatar’s commitment to sustainability

According to Minister of Municipality, HE Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Expo 2023 Doha is a beacon of Qatar’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental progress. He said that with esteemed partners like Qatar Airways, they are poised to deliver an Expo experience that resonates globally and inspires positive change.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive HE Akbar Al Baker said that the arrival of the Expo 2023 Doha aircraft at HIA symbolises their commitment to fostering a sustainable and innovative future as enshrined in Qatar’s national vision.

As part of its substantial contribution to Expo 2023 Doha, Qatar Airways will feature the Qatar Airways Garden, an impressive pavilion designed to illustrate the Expo’s theme, Green Desert, Better Environment.

Qatar Airways will also offer an enriched in-flight experience from 11 October featuring curated beverages and an exclusive à la carte menu to put on spotlight Qatari farm-sourced ingredients, and an Expo-themed in-flight entertainment – a dedicated Expo channel offering over 30 gardening-related shows.

Expo 2023 Doha, will run from October 2023 to March 2024 at the scenic Al Bidda Park. Around three million international visitors are expected to visit the showcase. Overlooking the Arabian Gulf, the six-month event will feature a diverse array of experiences including beautiful gardens, enlightening talks, art, and cuisine, with special emphasis on innovative approaches to combat desertification.
