Qatar Airways is offering over 100 new positions for nationals as the carrier takes part in the Qatar Career Fair.
The national airline said it was offering positions across the business including its subsidiaries and the country’s new aviation gateway – Hamad International Airport – in different fields including commercial, finance, operations, administration, human resources, marketing, information technology, corporate planning and ground services.
The recruitment includes jobs for fresh graduates to join a 22-month rotation programme between departments and an aviation management scheme for those already in employment yet with no industry experience but looking for a career change into the sector.
All the positions are exclusively available to Qataris with applications encouraged through the career section of the airline’s website.
The Qatar Career Fair takes place at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) from 1 – 6 April 2013. Qatar Airways’ double-storey stand is located in the Business and Finance section of the Career Fair, namely BF – P03.
Staff from Qatar Airways’ Nationalisation Department, together with senior management from across the company will be on hand at the stand to talk to potential employees over the course of the six days about the array of jobs available across the airline and its subsidiaries.
Job seekers will be able to apply for positions online and, if preselected, will be invited for interview at the career fair.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said:
‘Our country’s aviation industry is going through momentous transformation as we open a brand new international airport to cope with the rapid expansion of Qatar Airways.’
So what better time for this huge recruitment drive for Qatari nationals during the forthcoming Qatar Career Fair as our industry gears up for this historic development. This is a moment of pride for Qataris in our beloved nation and we at Qatar Airways are injecting a lot of resource into creating jobs for nationals and nurturing them as part of the country’s 2030 National Vision for sustained growth.
With over 100 jobs available during the next financial year, this demonstrates the commitment by Qatar Airways in offering talented Qataris a rewarding career with the national airline. We are one of the country’s biggest employers, with over 27,000 people currently working across the group, a figure that will rise sharply over the next few years in line with the airline’s aggressive growth and expansion.’
Qatar Airways Nationalisation Vice President Dr Kholode Al Obaidli added:
‘We encourage potential employees to engage in dialogue with our staff at the Career Fair. Among the new schemes being offered are the graduate rotation programme where Qataris can decide which discipline they want to follow during a 22-month programme moving between departments. This training will involve our strategic partners such as Boeing, Airbus and our industry body International Air Transport Association.
Our aviation management programme is an exciting scheme enabling freshers to our industry to undergo two years of training and gear them up for managerial roles in the company that can ultimately be at head office or overseas at many of our international offices. We will be encouraging online applications onsite for all the positions on offer to simplify the tracking process.’
