Qatar Airways is bringing in another eventful season of tennis to Doha with the world’s leading players competing in the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2014 tournament taking place from 30 December to 4 January 2014.

World No.1 player Rafael Nadal, World No.3 David Ferrer and World No.4 Andy Murray will take centre stage and battle it out on the courts of the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex.

Spain’s Rafael Nadal will be returning to Doha after a 2013 season that saw him win 10 titles, including an eighth French Open and a second US Open. This is Nadal’s sixth appearance in Doha – his best result was a finals appearance in 2010.

David Ferrer, also of Spain, had an outstanding 2013 season winning two titles and reaching seven other finals.

Andy Murray is a two-time champion in Doha, having won in 2008 and 2009. Since then, he has won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics, the 2012 US Open title and 2013 Wimbledon, becoming the first British man to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry in 1936.

To celebrate the event, Qatar Airways is launching a contest at to provide tennis fans around the world with an opportunity to win a pair of VIP tickets to attend both the semi-final and the finals matches. The lucky winner will also earn a three night stay at the Oryx Rotana Hotel.
