HE Saud bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, the ambassador of Qatar to France was conferred the distinction of ‘Knight of the Legion of Honour’, the highest decoration in France, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in the development of good bilateral relations between the two countries and building bridges of communication.

The French Ambassador to Qatar, Eric Chevallier, presented the award to Saud Al Mahmoud during the ceremony organised by the French embassy on this occasion on Tuesday 11 November 2014. The Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi and officials from Ministry of Interior attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Saud bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud expressed his pleasure for his achievement of the honour and pointed out that It was the highest honour he got in his career which is presented by the President of the France. He added that it was also a recognition for the strong relations between the two friendly countries. He underscored the efforts of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to strengthen the bilateral relation and cooperation between Qatar and France.
