Qatar Chamber (QC) and the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) is organising a series of awareness seminars for the private sector about the recently issued amendments to the labour law.

The first webinar is scheduled this Thursday, 24 September, and will be dedicated for Qatari businessmen and company owners.

The new laws include determining the minimum wage for workers and domestic workers, amendments to the labour law and the law on entry and exit of expatriates, which include facilitating the movement of labour between companies.

The webinar aims to enable businessmen to get acquainted with the new laws pertaining to labour and labourers. It will highlight details on submission of transactions to the Ministry and in identifying the most important services provided by the Ministry.

It will also open discussions between businessmen and officials of the Ministry, and to consider views and proposals that will benefit all parties.

Another webinar is scheduled to be held next week and will be for representatives of companies  responsible for completing transactions of employees and workers with concerned authorities. It aims to familiarise these company representatives to procedures related to transactions of expatriate workers, in accordance with the new legislation and laws.
