HE Mohammed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice-chairman of Qatar Chamber, met with HE Marco Cadez, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. The meeting, which was held at the Chamber’s headquarters, discussed ways to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Bin Twar praised the good relations between the two countries, and the sincere desire of both sides to develop these relations in various fields, noting that there are many cooperation agreements signed between the two countries in various fields, which provides a suitable environment to enhance cooperation in economic fields.

Bin Twar pointed to the importance of forming the Qatari-Serbian joint business council, for which a memorandum of understanding was signed to establish it three years ago, adding that the joint council will work to strengthen cooperation relations between the Qatari and Serbian private sectors and exchange visits between the business men in the two countries, with the aim of exchanging experiences between Qatari companies and their counterparts in Serbia, and establish joint ventures.

Bin Twar added that despite the growth of trade exchange by 50% over the past year, it is still modest, with a value of about QAR51 million in 2021.

Bin Twar called on businessmen from the two countries to explore business opportunities and establish trade alliances that would benefit the promotion of trade exchange between the two countries.

For his part, Marco Cadiz, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, stressed the importance of supporting trade relations between the private sectors in the two countries, and focusing on creating a suitable climate for partnerships between Qatari and Serbian companies.

He called on Qatari business owners to visit Serbia and learn about the investment climate and available investment opportunities, especially in the field of information technology and the agricultural sector.

During the meeting, Cadiz reviewed the most important economic sectors in which Qataris can invest, and the facilities and incentives offered by the concerned authorities in his country to foreign investors.

He pointed to the support of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to establish Qatari-Serbian trade partnerships. He expressed his hope that the coming period will witness momentum in mutual visits between businessmen delegations from the two countries.
