Qatar Chamber Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani toured the pavilions of SME participating in the exhibition on the sidelines of the Qatar Chamber SME Conference held earlier this week at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort and Convention Hotel.
Among the SME participants joining the exhibition, Sheikh Khalifa was particularly impressed with the MASAR project, an online platform which aims to connect companies and institutions in Qatar via a single platform; and with the Perfume Factory, an ambitious project aiming to establish a manufacturing facility for perfumes of high quality.
In a press statement, Sheikh Khalifa stressed their support to entrepreneurs and to all SME, which he said is the backbone of modern economy. He affirmed that the Chamber is interested to stimulate investment in SMEs that support the state’s policies of economic diversification.
The Chamber provides support to entrepreneurs to help them start up their businesses, referring to the ‘MAAN’ initiative launched by Qatar University and Qatar Development Bank.
He praised the large turnout and participation of British companies in the SME Conference and their interest to explore the Qatari market and find new investment opportunities. He said that hopefully, the event closes with agreements between Qatari and British companies, and more mutual projects in both their SME sectors.
