Qatar Chamber Chairman, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani will preside over the chamber’s first General Assembly Meeting (GAM), slated to be held this Wednesday, 10 May at its headquarters.

The meeting agenda includes review of the Board of Directors report on the chamber’s activities and financial status for the year ending 31 December 2022. They will also discuss and approve the auditor’s report on the chamber’s budget, final accounts and the statement of revenues and expenses for fiscal year ending 31 December 2022.

Also included in the agenda is discharging members of the Board of Directors and approval of the estimated budget for the 2023 fiscal year, and the appointment of a new auditor and determination of his fees. Members are expected to attend the meeting as they will also hold the elections of the new Board of Directors for the seventh council.

In a statement, Qatar Chamber said that if the required quorum is not reached in the first meeting, the second meeting will be held on 28 May at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, regardless of the number of attendees.

Members who are entitled to attend the GAM and vote in the elections are those who already paid the membership fees for the year 2023 until the date of the first meeting. Registration for attendance will begin three hours before the meetin. Members should attend in person and should bring a copy of the CR and Qatari ID.

A member delegating a proxy to attend in his or her stead, must be one of the chamber’s registered members, with a Power of Attorney certified by Qatar Chamber and approved by the Chairman of the Elections Committee. The chamber will continue to provide the attestation on proxy services until the day before the chamber’s General Assembly Meeting.

The member may also obtain a power of attorney from the Real Estate Registration and Authentication Department at the Ministry of Justice.
