As part of its role to spur small- and medium-sized businesses in the country, Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has launched the Ramadan Markets in cooperation with Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre). On its second year, Ramadan Markets are organised to encourage individual and family entrepreneurs to develop their skills in marketing and promotion of local products.

The Ramadan Markets Fair opening was joined by QDB CEO Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa, Bedaya Centre CEO Reem Al Suwaidi, and Mall of Qatar General Manager Mohammed Al Maraghi, in the presence of participating entrepreneurs and scores of shoppers.

The Ramadan Markets Fair is set to run on 4-16 June from 8 pm to 1 am at the Mall of Qatar. It will feature a variety of homemade products and innovative handcrafts made by 33 entrepreneurial projects and initiatives, available for shoppers during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

QDB CEO Abdul Aziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa said that the first edition of the Ramadan Markets was a great success and registered a high turnout, with 70 companies offering various products and participating.

Qatar Development Bank has been committed to organise these events and activities that support entrepreneurs in the local market and open new avenues of opportunity for them. These strengthen the role of the private sector in Qatar.’

QDB continues to provide various advisory services to SME, and is dedicated to facilitating and promoting their growth within key economic channels, in line with diversifying the economy, as a key objective of Qatar National Vision 2030.
