Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference 2020 Expects Wider Participation this Year
In celebration of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has launched the Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference 2020 – Rowad Qatar – under the theme ‘Business Sustainability: my impact on my economy and my country’.
Regarded as the premier annual entrepreneurship event in the country, this year’s edition will take place over the course of five days, from 15 to 19 November.
With the launch of its first virtual edition, QDB aims to highlight the importance of adapting to change by transforming the pandemic-induced challenge of holding the conference in a traditional format, into an opportunity to reach a wider audience with a virtual event that takes place on a digital platform.
Speaking on the launch of the conference, QDB CEO Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Al Khalifa said that they aim to enrich the entrepreneurial scene in Qatar and further develop a cooperative network among the various actors within the ecosystem through which they can continue to exchange dialogue and expertise, and share knowledge, towards serving strategic goals and realising Qatar’s national vision and its economic diversification and sustainability goals.
GEW aims to celebrate the entrepreneurship culture and put the spotlight on success stories of entrepreneurs, while inspiring the business community and encouraging innovation among its members in Qatar and across the globe.
By celebrating the renowned global event every year, the Rowad Qatar additionally contributes to the country’s economic growth by creating a vibrant business climate for emerging enterprises and aspiring entrepreneurs and further developing an integrated ecosystem that guides them along their journey to success.
The conference is set to host a series of training sessions and specialised workshops in line with QDB’s mission to develop interactive platforms for knowledge exchange between ambitious entrepreneurs, and industry experts and thought leaders representing various sectors and domains. A number of key sustainability topics and issues will be discussed over the course of five days, with the participation of more than 45 industry experts and specialists in nearly 25 different workshops and several panel discussions.
With a focus on sustainability, the conference brings together like-minded innovators who embrace the challenge of recognising, developing and leveraging entrepreneurial opportunities towards creating value across all four pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.
This year’s edition will also witness the announcement of winners for the 7th Edition of the Al Fikra Competition and the Resilient Award for private enterprises that have successfully dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic and social challenges.
QDB is anticipating the participation of all members of the entrepreneurship ecosystem – business owners, institutions and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) – in the conference and their engagement with the leading platform that it presents, towards achieving its goals and objectives.
