Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Qatar Shell celebrated their 10-year partnership at the 43rd edition of The Emir Cup 2015 final on Saturday 23 May 2015 at the Al Sadd Stadium.
The Emir Cup 2015 finale was a final match between Al Jaish and Al Sadd. Al Sadd walked away as the winner of The Emir Cup 2015 with a final score of 2-1. The Emir Cup 2015 is the last tournament of the season and is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country. From 24 April to 23 May 2015, the football championship witnessed the participation of 18 first and second division teams that competed to win the most coveted title, played in five stadia, Al Arabi Stadium, Qatar Sports Club, Lekhwiya Stadium, Al Sadd Stadium and Al Gharafa Stadium.
The decade-long collaboration between the two partners includes Qatar Shell’s lead sponsorship of The Emir Cup and official partnership with the Qatar national teams. The long-standing partnership grew in 2013 when the two organisations collaborated to launch the award-winning KOORA TIME initiative which encourages young people in Qatar to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle through football. Since its launch, KOORA TIME has won a number of awards including the ‘Dar Al Sharq Corporate Social Responsibility Award’ for the Best Sports Initiative, the Sports Industry Award for ‘Best Youth Development Initiative’ and the ‘AFC Dream of Asia Award’ in the area of social responsibility.
Commenting on the milestone, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of QFA said:

QFA was established in the 1960’s; it is a pioneer among Qatari sports associations and one of the main associations that operates under the banner of the Qatar Olympic Committee. QFA plays a pivotal role in laying the foundation for football in the state, and is still the first to help advance the game and improve its level in Qatar, thus making the state a crucial player on the regional and international football scene.

At the Final of The Emir Cup 2015, QFA, Qatar Shell and partners activated a Fan Zone with football and non-football activities for the whole family.
