Alumni of Qatar Foundation universities will find new paths to a career in the aviation industry opening up to them – in partnership with Qatar Airways, aiming to equip locally nurtured talent to join the world’s best airline.

The long-term collaboration between Qatar Foundation and Qatar Airways aims to create an array of opportunities – both full-time and under an internship programme – for graduates who emerge from the education ecosystem of Qatar Foundation.

QF and Qatar Airways 2The partnership – sealed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding recently during the first QF Alumni Reunion event – will be customised to ensure that alumni are prepared to join the national carrier.

Qatar Foundation Vice Chairperson and CEO HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani said they are proud of all their alumni, who she said are the embodiment of why the country invest in education and of the contribution they make to the development of Qatar with their skills, positive and proactive mindsets and their dedication to excellence.

They remain part of our story and our mission even after they have graduated, and we are committed to helping them pursue rewarding, impactful careers in different fields and sectors in Qatar, so that our nation can retain the talent that we nurture.

She said that they are delighted to be collaborating with a world-class organisation as they seek to encourage their graduates to build their careers and their futures in Qatar.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive HE Akbar Al Baker said they are continuously looking to attract bright and talented minds to join the company, which is why the MOU with Qatar Foundation is so strategic.

It enables us to look within our country, amongst some of most prestigious universities from across the globe, to find skilled talent, creative thinkers, and curious minds.

The academic programmes offered within the higher education landscape of Qatar Foundation – comprising Hamad Bin Khalifa University and seven international partner universities – cultivate skills that align with the needs of Qatar Airways.

Through the partnership, training programmes and information sessions will be provided for Qatar Foundation alumni who are considering potential careers with Qatar Airways. They will also explore the introduction of an aviation management education programme.

This week’s QF Alumni Reunion and Career Fair at Al Shaqab saw hundreds of graduates of Qatar Foundation universities and schools return to Education City to connect with fellow alumni. The event saw public and private sector organisations from across Qatar promote their full-time, part-time, training, and internship opportunities to QF alumni.
