For the first time, Qatar Foundation Pre-University Education (PUE) is taking its summer camp online. Mukhayamna, set to run from 5 -30 July, will feature a series of fun and exciting educational activities for school children.
According to PUE Executive Director for Academic Affairs Abeer Al Khalifa, they have decided to host their summer camp virtually because of the pandemic.
And while COVID-19 restrictions are beginning to ease, we will go ahead with the digital platform as we are dedicated to creating a safe, happy, and secure space for our participants.
PUE has teamed up with a number of local entities to deliver this year’s camp, including the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art, Qatar Scientific Club, Doha Film Institute, and Qatar National Library.
The comprehensive programme, open to children aged five to 18 years old, includes language lessons, Model United Nations activities, and musical theatre classes, as well as design, creative writing, technology, STEM, sports, and arts sessions.
Al Khalifa said they are looking forward to welcoming students to this year’s camp.
Every year, alongside our academic activities, we strive to promote a range of other skills, such as leadership, team work, and creativity, while building personal success.
She said that this year, they are also offering special classes for gifted students, which – through a challenging, specially-designed programme – will help young people excel, and encourage them to shine.
The courses will be delivered by teachers from across the QF schools, including Qatar Academy Doha, Qatar Academy Al Khor, Qatar Academy Al Wakra, Qatar Academy Sidra, Qatar Academy Msheireb, Qatar Academy for Science and Technology, and The Learning Center.
We have no doubt that this year’s edition is going to be a great success, and encourage interested members of the community to register.
