Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl–Doha received three awards at the Food & Travel 2016 GCC Awards, held in Bahrain on 29 February 2016.
Marsa Malaz Kempinski has been selected as the GCC’s Best Resort Hotel, while El Faro the Best Spanish Restaurant, and Antica Pesa recognised the Best Newcomer Restaurant.
The St. Regis Doha
The St. Regis Doha won the ‘Best 5 Star Hotel’ title in Qatar category.

Amari Doha, part of ONYX Hospitality Group, won the Best Four-Star Hotel in Qatar award and silver in the overall GCC Four-star Hotel category.

The ceremony took place in Bahrain on 29 February, under the patronage of HE Mr Zayed R Alzayani, Bahrain’s Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, and was attended by Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority Acting Chief Executive Shaikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa, diplomats and more than 120 hospitality leaders and other guests.
The Food & Travel Awards are highlighting the excellence of the region’s hotels and restaurants. The initial call for nominations was sent out in February last year, with the winners selected by a team from Food & Travel, along with expert panellists, who also incorporated public opinion by way of over 263,000 votes.
