Mr Abi Haidar, Mr Al Saadi

This year’s Qatar Motor Show may look forward to welcoming in excess of the 120,000 visitors it received in 2012 thanks to the impressive line-up it has in store for 2013. Back for its third consecutive year, the event will showcase brands from across the globe, encompassing luxury vehicles, sports cars, SUVs and family sedans.

Speaking about the forthcoming event at a recent press conference the Qatar Tourism Authority Head of Exhibitions Organising Section (Acting), Mr Ammar Al Saadi, shared his thoughts on the importance of the event for Qatar, adding:

Each year the Qatar Motor Show has put the country firmly on the global automotive industry map by showcasing the newest models and the latest industry developments, many for the first time ever, in Qatar. We have a sensational line-up this year of international car brands – some of which will be world premieres  alongside interesting side events taking place concurrently with the motor show.”

According to Mr Al Saadi, the motor industry is important to Qatar and equally Qatar is a significant market for the car industry, both underlining how important QTA’s drive behind the show is, making nothing less than a massive highpoint in the region’s calendar that brings visitors to Qatar in huge numbers.

With a theme of ‘Stand Out from the Crowd’ for 2013, the organisers are encouraging visitors far and wide to visit the five-day event to be entertained, impressed and even surprised.

The organisers of the event are Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), Events, and GL events. After thanking Qatar Tourism Authority for the support provided and GL events as a co-organiser for investing their International experience and know-how in this field, Mr Roger Abi Haidar, events’ General Manager unveiled the identity of the 2013 Qatar Motor Show – a striking logo featuring the combination of Qatar’s symbol along with a sports car basking in a glowing aura.

Mr Abi Haidar announced:

We believe that this concept is fitting for the Qatar Motor Show – a concept that bridges our heritage with the future. Two important elements were merged into one:  the falcon, the symbol of our great State of Qatar, and a sports car – an obvious representation of the Qatar Motor Show itself. The merger combines tradition, power, and speed all into one, with the bright and glowing colours representing the very same effect that a car speeding through the night would have.”
