Qatar Museums, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, has recently organised a campaign to sanitise and disinfect its museums and parks, as part of precautionary and preventive measures to counter the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Sanitisation, spraying and disinfection work targeted buildings, internal streets, parking areas, parks and playgrounds at the National Museum of Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art and the Fire Station: Artist in Residence.
Qatar Museums CEO Ahmad Al Namla, said that thanks to the support and cooperation of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the sanitation campaign of museums has been implemented.
As we are facing this unprecedented situation, it is paramount to help stop the spread of coronavirus and ensure the health and safety of our society.
He added that while museums remain closed, QM has taken steps to give access to galleries, collections and programmes through digital platforms, to fulfil their mission, virtually, of providing places for respite, education and inspiration.
