Qatar Now Requires Hotel Booking for Nationals on ‘Visa on Arrival’ from India, Iran and Pakistan
UPDATE: The mandatory hotel booking has been removed from the Discover Qatar website. As of this time, it is not clear if the hotel booking requirement for Indian, Iranian and Pakistani nationals, which was earlier announced (see article below) is cancelled temporarily or removed completely.
The Ministry of Interior (MOI) amended the requirements for visa on arrival for nationals coming from India, Iran and Pakistan. Visitors coming from these three countries will need to book a hotel via the Discover Qatar website for the entire duration of their stay in Qatar.
The Discover Qatar website has posted the details (see this link) of the new mandate and has also started taking booking only for visa on arrival for these nationalities. Even if you are visiting family in Qatar you will be required to book a hotel for the entire duration of your stay. This new mandate will be in effect from 14 April.
In addition to the mandatory hotel stay, all nationals from India, Iran and Pakistan should meet these requirements to receive visa on arrival to Qatar:
- Visitor must have purchased hotel accommodation from the Discover Qatar website
- The visa length should match the duration of the hotel stay purchased from Discover Qatar – from a minimum of two days, to a maximum of 60 days
- Meet all the other criteria mandated by MOI
This new mandate only applies for ‘Visa on Arrival’ applications for Indian, Iranian and Pakistani Nationals.
