Qatar Petroleum recently honoured over 450 frontline leaders who have completed an 18-month specialised leadership programme, the second of which organised for senior employees.
The event was held at Qatar National Convention Centre under the patronage of HE Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President/CEO of Qatar Petroleum. The event was also attended by the executive leadership team of Qatar Petroleum.
Al Kaabi congratulated the participants and thanked them for their commitment to development and for their efforts to help achieve Qatar Petroleum’s vision of becoming one of the best national oil and gas companies in the world.
We know that many companies can buy the best systems and machines, but without well-qualified, skilled and motivated people operating and managing them, they will get nowhere.’
The minister stressed that learning matters, and that everyone in Qatar Petroleum needs to apply their newly learnt knowledge and skills in the workplace.
This is a new culture that we need to build in order to enjoy greater speed and agility as an organisation, and to take our place on the global stage.’
He also reiterated that investment in leaders will continue as learning becomes a never-ending journey at Qatar Petroleum.
Each of the mandatory leadership programmes were customised to Qatar Petroleum and co-designed in partnership between the Human Capital Directorate of Qatar Petroleum and top business schools. More programmes are planned for 2020 to address emerging priorities and needs.
