Qatar Petroleum honoured a new group of Qatari nationals who have joined its ranks after successfully completing their academic studies and training programmes under QP’s scholarship programme.

The 123 honorees graduated from distinguished universities in Qatar, France, the USA, the UK, Australia, and the Sultanate of Oman.

His Excellency Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, congratulated the honoree graduates on their achievement and welcomed them to Qatar Petroleum:

We are proud to have celebrated the graduation of 1,564 Qatari students over the past eight years, amongst whom we hope to see future leaders who will take Qatar Petroleum to more successes.’

His Excellency Al-Kaabi told the graduates that they are joining Qatar Petroleum at a time when it is expanding its international footprint with its international partners in countries like Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Mozambique and Oman. He announced:

A few days ago, we announced a significant gas condensate discovery off the southern coast of South Africa, which is the first discovery in Qatar Petroleum’s international exploration ventures. This and other achievements are an important milestone that reflects the soundness of our strategy on the road to becoming one of the best national oil and gas companies in the word. There is no doubt that you and all our qualified and capable national human resources will play a role in achieving our vision.’

His Excellency urged the graduates to place special emphasis on developing themselves, and on working hard to achieve their goals and towards the development of Qatar both at present and in the future.

At the end of the ceremony, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, handed certificates of appreciation to all graduates, along with symbolic gifts for outstanding graduates in their fields of specialisation.
