qatar summer festival 2015

Malls around Qatar are all set to launch month-long sales, retail promotions and weekly raffle draws as part of the Qatar Summer Festival (QSF) 2015.

Manager of Festivals and Events, Mashal Shahbik, said:

A unique shopping experience is a key factor for tourists selecting their ideal destination, and at this years’ Qatar Summer Festival we have worked to ensure malls and retailers are transformed into colourful venues with exciting offers.’

Eight malls, including Hayatt Plaza, The Mall, Al Khor Mall, The Gate and Ezdan Mall, Villaggio, Landmark and Gulf Mall as well as select stores at The Pearl-Qatar will be participating in the shopping promotions and raffle draws. Several will be offering either sales up to 50% in various stores or other promotions on selected brands, such as ‘Buy One – Get One Free.’ Participating stores will be recognisable through the QSF 2015 slogan ‘Colour Your Summer,’ which will be visible on their doors or windows. The promotions will continue until the last day of QSF, 31 August 2015.

Shoppers who spend QAR200 at any store, whether participating in the promotions or not, will be eligible to enter a raffle draw for one of 40 prizes including a BMW 7 Series, a Mini Cooper, a QAR50,000 cheque and a QAR10,000 cheque. The total of cash prizes amounts to over QAR700,000. Raffle draws will take place every weekend at Ezdan Mall (6 August 2015), The Mall (13 August 2015), Gulf Mall (20 August 2015), and Villaggio (27 August 2015).

Lively events are planned around the draws, complete with a variety of shows from violin performances to speed painting. Additional roaming shows such as the Oriental Parade and Circus Parade will continue throughout the week.

In addition to the main raffle event, shoppers will be selected at random to join a side draw that will offer winners shopping vouchers of up to QAR5,000. A shopper’s bill (or bills’ total) does not have to reach QAR200 to be selected for this draw.
