Qatar Total Open Women’s Tennis Tournament 2019 Opens this Week

Qatar Total Open Women’s Tennis Tournament 2019 is ongoing this week at the state-of-the-art Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha, 11 to 16 February, sponsored by Qatar Airways and Qatar Duty Free (QDF). 

Joining this year’s event is three-time Grand Slam champion and 2014 finalist Angelique Kerber (Germany) and two former world No 1 players, Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) and Simona Halep (Romania).

Qatar Airways and QDF will host special booths at the sponsors village, offering tennis fans a taste of their world-renowned five-star service. The Qatar Airways booth will feature an interactive green screen where tennis fans can get their photos printed on virtual backgrounds featuring destinations like Doha, Da Nang and Gothenburg, and an A350-1000 aircraft. The QDF booth, meanwhile, will feature a quiz accompanied by a photo opportunity where visitors will have to guess the number of branded tennis balls and share it on social media, for a chance to win a hamper filled with exciting prizes from Qatar Duty Free.

According to Qatar Airways Senior VP for Marketing and Corporate Communications Salam Al Shawa, Qatar Airways is delighted to once again sponsor the Qatar Total Open 2019, which brings many of the world’s most talented female tennis players to Doha to compete for the coveted championship title. The exciting tournament is a major highlight of Qatar’s sporting calendar every year, drawing thousands of spectators and fans.

Qatar Duty Free Senior VP Bruce Bowman, said that following their sponsorship at Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2019 tournament, they are once again proud to be actively involved in Qatar’s international calendar of sporting events.
