Qatar’s one and only water theme park is kicking off the Eid Al Fitr festivities with an exciting action-packed pirate-themed event to take place from the first day of Eid and is to last for five consecutive days, from 3 pm to 9:30 pm.
Aqua Park’s exciting event will be centered on providing a destination for families and children to enjoy a refreshing yet active day by the cool water. Aqua Park Qatar’s General Manager, Mohamed Firdaus Raj, said:
Aqua Park is not just a regular water park. Every once in a while, we find different ways to be inclusive of the public by organising special events that cater to our guests’ wants and needs. Whilst the park can be enjoyable for people of all ages, we like to dedicate certain days and events to the various age groups and interests, allowing us to connect with our visitors on new levels…This is the first of many exciting upcoming events we have planned for the year ahead. We wanted to welcome the hot temperatures with open arms by organising this fun and unique way for families to cool off and enjoy our park’s attractions while spending some time together.’
Throughout these five days, there will be a variety of amusements and entertaining activities on offer for all children. Kids can participate in water ball racing, an activity where they can climb into a large inflatable plastic sphere that they can then steer across the water between bars and cones, making their way to the finish line. In addition, children will be able to test their throwing skills in a ‘Pirates Battle’ activity, where they will have to get the balls inside the canon holes of the pirate ship to win. There will also be wet sponge throwing and face painting – a children’s favourite! And, if that’s not enough, kids are guaranteed to enjoy the large bouncy castle and the human-sized cartoon character that will be mingling with the crowd.
A total of 160,000 people visited Aqua Park in 2013, and, the total for this year is an expected 170,000.
Whether you’re coming with your family or friends, Aqua Park has something to offer guests of all age groups and swimming abilities. From a children’s activity pool, to four-storey high water slides and family pools, the park features 15 exhilarating water rides and attractions spread over an area of 50,000 square meters.
The park has reserved Fridays as family days, and Tuesdays as female-only days, where no bachelors are allowed in, to give a chance for families and women to enjoy a private and comfortable visit to the park. However, these exceptions do not apply during Eid.
