Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC), an affiliate of Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and one of the largest mixed-use business incubators in the MENA region, announced the start of registration for the fifth wave of its Lean Acceleration Program (LAP).

The programme is designed to accelerate the growth of companies with high potential and sizable customer bases and enhance their ability to attract local and international investments through mentorship and support.

Lean Acceleration Program (LAP)

LAP is distinguished in terms of targeting existing companies with remarkable monthly growth and providing the necessary push for enterprises to lead in their respective domains.

The fifth wave builds on the successes of its precursors which, to date, graduated over 200 companies that have contributed to the development of the Qatari market and, in some cases, to today’s most anticipated global event, the FIFA World Cup 2022 ™.

The programme aims to develop existing businesses, stimulate their sales and marketing and develop their products and services to reach wider customer segments. This is carried out through the programme’s main services that include training entrepreneurs to reach local, regional and global customers in the public and private sectors, find administrative and technical talents and equip them with the necessary knowledge and tools to enable them to attract smart financing, in addition to providing impactful guidance throughout the programme’s duration.

LAP concludes with a special demo day in which the best-performing companies present their work to the most prominent investors and capital owners from within and outside Qatar, with the aim of obtaining investments that contribute to accelerating their growth and expanding their market reach.

Programme requirements

Enrolment in the programme requires a Minimum Viable Product/Service (MVP), ongoing monthly revenue, a full-time co-founder, experience in using the business model, and the ability to fully commit to the 14-week programme.

QBIC invites aspiring entrepreneurs to register for the fifth wave via qbic.qa. Registration will close on 20 February.

To support the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Qatar, QBIC offers a number of programmes that cover all stages of a company’s growth, such as the Lean Manufacturing Program. It also provides several specialised programmes to promote economic diversification and develop the skills of entrepreneurs in the country, including the Lean Coach Program.
