Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) joined Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) in this month’s celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a global campaign celebrated around the world to raise awareness on the importance of early detection.

QFBA PinktoberSpecialists from Qatar Cancer Society led an information session where staff of QFBA, Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC), along with students and faculty from QFBA – Northumbria University attended to learn about early detection and common misconceptions.

Breast Cancer Awareness is celebrated globally during the month of October, to raise awareness and educate the public on the leading causes of breast cancer, the most vulnerable groups, preventive mechanisms, and the critical importance of early detection and mammograms.

The  information session was part of QFBA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, focused on community-based initiatives, particularly on breast cancer and the importance of early detection. The initiative also reaffirmed the academy’s interest in supporting the community, positively impacting its development as well as that of its members.

Through the CSR programme, QFBA is committed to maintaining its social and ethical responsibilities towards the community. Aimed to develop the nation’s human capital by educating the youth on leading issues concerning society, QFBA intends to facilitate in the development of a new generation of socially-aware youth, following the mandate of Qatar National Vision 2030.

In recognition of  the Academy’s social and ethical responsibilities, QFBA and QCS agreed to organise an awareness session dedicated to cancers effecting men, to raise awareness on  the causes, mechanisms of prevention, importance of early detection and treatment methods.

QFBA takes an active role in the community, actively organising several awareness sessions to educate employees, staff, faculty and students about various diseases and methods of prevention. There is no doubt that a healthy body is a reflection of a healthy mind, and it is crucial to maintain a healthy body to truly become capable, self-developing and a serving member of society.
