Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC) has announced the sponsors for the 4th Edition of Qatar Sustainability Week, which will be held from 26 October to 2 November under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. QGBC is a member of Qatar Foundation.

The week-long QGBC initiative will serve as a platform to promote Qatar’s sustainability vision, as well as engage the community through sustainability-oriented activities. QSW 2019 will also highlight the country’s contributions and progress towards the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The strength of QSW as a platform is driven by the active participation of stakeholders from the private and public sectors. QSW provides a unique opportunity for various stakeholders to showcase their innovative solutions to environmental challenges facing Qatar and the wider region and facilitate the delivery of Qatar National Vision 2030 in line with the global sustainability agenda.

Alfardan Group will join for the first time as ‘Diamond Sponsor’. Msheireb Properties, for the fourth consecutive year, will serve as ‘Platinum Sponsor’ and Qatar National Bank (QNB) is joining as ‘Gold Sponsor’.

According to QGBC Director Engineer Meshal Al Shamari, they greatly value the support and commitment from partners and sponsors of Qatar Sustainability Week.

I’d like to take this opportunity to reaffirm their vital role in the continued success of the initiative, now in its fourth edition. We are proud to draw together so many diverse organisations and join our collective efforts towards achieving the nation’s sustainable development goals.’

Other key sponsors of the week include Tadmur Holding, Facilities Management and Maintenance Company (FMM), Jotun Paints, Ateliers Artea, Elite Paper Recycling, and Contactless.

QSW 2019 is expected to follow the continuing success of the initiative over the past three years. Last year, the initiative drew more than 30,000 members of the public and representatives of key governmental and private institutions, at 220 events by 125 partners in three cities.
