Qatar International Medical Congress (QIMC) announced the names of prominent delegates and speakers that will engage in knowledge sharing sessions with industry experts at the event, which will be held 18—20 May 2016 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. This year’s event brings together prominent international thought leaders in the medical industry, who will discuss unprecedented topics, medical discoveries and technological potential in the region.
QIMC 2016 is expected to exceed all expectations as internationally renowned experts in the medical field travel to Qatar to discuss medical breakthroughs and technologies during the Congress. Among them are Professor Johannes Schweizer, the Vice President at Arbor Vita Corporation in the USA who will discuss how biomarkers are improving cervical cancer screening efficiency. Also from the USA Dr Sam Ali, from chemicals company Denka USA; Dr Hans Fuernkranz, President and CEO at NVS technologies; and Hicham Jorio, Venture Partner at SPIRE Bioventures also join the conference. In addition, Dr Brian Reid, the Vice President of International Sales at OraSure Technologies in the United Kingdom will discuss breakthrough laboratory technologies in hepatitis and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) saliva based screening.

During the congress, regional medical experts will discuss the potential of this region in the medical space. Raed Shadfan, CEO of Atlas Medical, will address current and future digitising technologies at the congress. In addition, Dr Hassan Albalwi, Dr Mourad Benosman and Aftab Arif from Qatar Science and Technology Park, as well as Dr Reda Rawi and Mourad Ouzzani, PhD from Qatar Computing Research Institute will be amongst the regional speakers.
