Qatar Olympic committee (QOC) will organise the 15th edition of the prestigious Islamic Triathlon Championship in March 2014 at the Sealine Beach.

QOC, the country’s governing sport body, will organise the event in collaboration with the Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation (QSAF), Qatar Swimming Association (QSA) and Qatar Endurance Committee (QEC). The event’s organising committee began preparing all the managerial and technical arrangements through a cooperation with the competent officials in QASF, QSA and QEC.

According to Mohammad Essa Al Fadala, Head of QOC Activities Section and Tournament Director, the registration process is open for all participants from Qatar, GCC and member countries of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF). The registration form is available at the QOC website. The ISSF regulation allows participants from Islamic countries to compete, provided that they must be physically fit and pass the examinations prescribed by the organising committee, as number of participants will not be less than 20 and not exceeds 50, QOC’s website said. A delegation from ISSF is scheduled to attend the championship and supervise the technical and official affairs during the event.

The tournament director said the 15th edition will feature two competitions for men and youth as the winners will be those contestants who will get the lowest number of points.
