Eid Al Adha Festival 2015 concluded its activities Monday after five days of celebrations that drew crowds of thousands to venues across Qatar, including malls, museums and sports arenas.

The Eid Al Adha Festival is one of several organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and its partners to showcase Qatar’s offerings as a family destination and, in the long-term, increase the number of visitors and tourists by building a sustainable and diverse calendar of events.

This year’s Eid Al Adha Festival sought to spread joy among residents and visitors alike, under the slogan ‘Capture Joy’. With this, QTA encouraged people to share their joy and happiness during Eid and transform them into beautiful memories. The campaign took place both online and on the ground in Hamad International Airport and several venues across Qatar.

Mashal Shahbik, Director of Festivals and Events at QTA, said:

The Festivals are part of Qatar’s strategy to grow and diversify its tourism offerings in partnership with the private sector, and to promote Qatar as a family oriented destination.’

‘We thank our partners at the various tourism hotspots around Qatar such as Katara and Souq Waqif which held its events in partnership with Sout Al Rayyan, for their daily shows and events and look forward to introducing more attractions to the Qatar festivals and events calendar together.’
