QTA Taste & Fun Food Festival

musicstage_dohafoodfestivalThe Qatar Tourism Authority are hosting the third annual Doha Taste and Fun Food Festival from February 8th to 11th.

This year is going to be busier than ever – there will be 70 restaurants, cafes and hotels from across the city. It’s sponsored by Jungle Zone, Askar Industrial Company and World Wide Tents and Halls.

Cuisine from around the world will be available to visitors for QR5- QR15 per plate – a very reasonable price!

QTA Chairman Ahmed Al Nuaimi said that the Taste and Fun Food Festival has become a much anticipated community event in Doha; “Where else can families sample such gourmet food for a reasonable price in a family-friendly atmosphere?”  He pointed out that Qatar has a very diverse community and that QTA want to promote cultural awareness. Especially as Qatar and Japan are celebrating their 40th anniversary – to celebrate there will be a special Japanese food stall. There will also be lots of activities for children provided by Jungle Zone – making it an ideal day out for families.

QTA are also proud of their “Black Box” competition, which will see four hotels and restaurants a day compete against each other in a live cooking competition. Hosted before an audience, they will have an hour to make a dish out of a mystery box of ingredients!

The timings of the events are:

Wednesday 8th from 4pm – 10:30pm

Thursday 9th from noon – 10:30pm

Friday 10th from 1pm – 10:30pm

Saturday 11th from noon – 10:30pm

Entry is free!
