RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is partnering with Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) for the third consecutive year to host a full day of sporting and fun activities for National Sport Day 2014 for its employees and families at the Aspire Zone on Tuesday 11 February 2014.
RasGas’ theme for this year’s National Sport Day, ‘Get Powered 2014’, is aligned with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme’s focus on promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. RasGas employees are already keen participants in sporting events and are competitive team players in the Qatar Petroleum Chairman’s Cup for both football and cricket.
Joining the CEO and members of the Executive Leadership team, more than 3,000 RasGas employees and their families from 70 different nationalities will join together to enjoy the diverse array of activities that RasGas has lined up for the day in coordination with Aspire Zone Foundation.
Highlights of the 2014 event promises to be team tournaments for popular sports such as football, basketball and cricket, ladies-only activities, mini-competitions for children, a Fun Run and a 5,000-step walk. Also on the programme are sports entertainers performing live kickboxing and acrobatic shows.
A dedicated team of sports professionals will be on hand to encourage participants and keep power levels high. Through an innovative individual barcoded passport, each participant can track his or her own sporting performance for each activity during the day to compete in the RasGas Sporting Awards challenge.
The event will take place at Aspire Zone, which offers a spacious setting and fantastic facilities able to host such a wide range of different physical activities taking place simultaneously in a safe and comfortable environment.
