Opera lovers enjoyed an unforgettable night of music as they witness ‘Shehrazed Symphony’, a music orchestra organised by Katara, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Algerian National Orchestra and the Embassy of Algeria, last Thursday at Katara Drama Theatre.
The musical extravaganza was in line with Katara’s approach of recognising artists from other countries that have a rich cultural heritage, by offering a platform to exhibit their talents to the public.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Algeria to Doha, HE Abdelaziz Seba, expressed his appreciation to the Cultural Village Foundation Katara for the active cooperation and support given to host a musical event of this magnitude.
Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and the Algerian National Orchestra were applauded for their combined musical scores. The Algerian National Orchestra, alongside its activities in Algeria, has a track record of successfully presenting similar concerts at various venues and events. The aim of the Orchestra is to promote and disseminate classical music amongst all music lovers irrespective of nationality or culture. It also aims at translating and preserving Algerian music that is an integral part of the country’s heritage by collaborating with various cultural entities.
