Qatar, through a cabinet decision announced earlier today, 31 March, decided to stop medical services at all private health facilities except for emergency cases as part of precautionary measures against the spread of COVID-19

The new decision will come into effect from Friday, 2 April 2021.

Qatar Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani chaired the regular cabinet meeting through video conferencing.

The Minister of Public Health gave the latest COVID-19 updates during the meeting. The cabinet affirmed the continuation of precautionary measures that are currently in place to combat the pandemic.

However, the private health facilities will be allowed to provide some of their medical services, if possible, through modern means of communication.
