Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation (QF), has recently met with members of QatarDebate’s Elite Academy.
The gathering, which was also attended by Machaille Al-Naimi, QF’s President of Community Development, took place at the QF Headquarters ahead of the Fourth International Universities Arabic Debating Championship (IUADC), which will be held in Doha, Qatar, from 8 – 12 April.
The Elite Academy is a unique initiative of QatarDebate, a member QF, which aims to train and mentor young men and women from around the region through specialised learning opportunities. The programme is designed to help create a generation of skilled debaters, encouraging two-way communication and enabling its members to meaningfully serve the communities they represent. HE Sheikha Hind spoke with the young men and women during the informal gathering, some of whom will be participating in the IUADC as judges, about how they have helped promote a culture of debate in their own countries.
