Nine more winners walked away with two Jaguar cars and QAR200,000 in cash prizes during the second Shop Qatar raffle draw held at Hyatt Plaza. Fifteen shoppers also won valuable prizes from the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ courtesy of the mall’s shops.

According to Hyatt Plaza Head of Marketing Mohammed Al Hawamdeh, they consider themselves responsible for promoting Qatar as a tourist destination to visitors from all over the world, being one of the first malls in Doha.

In addition to the raffle draw, various activities have been designed to entertain all and sundry – from the ‘young’ to the ‘young at heart’ from all nationalities which makes the festival so popular among visitors and residents alike.’

The five winners of QAR10,000 cash prizes in the second week’s raffle draw are Samar Haddad, Faisal Hussain Belghith, Al Anoud Al Thani, Mohammad Rimgul, Rashed Al Qadhi. Ghalia Ahmad Al Mhamad won QAR50,000 and the biggest cash prize of QAR100,000 went to Al Jazi Ahmad Ahdhiri. Two fortunate shoppers Wadha Al Doussari and Abdelkader Said get to update their ride this year with brand new Jaguar cars.

Next week’s Shop Qatar Raffle Draw will be held at the Mall of Qatar on Thursday, 10 January, 7:30 pm.

Last Chance to Buy Tickets for the Pakistani Music Fest

In addition to exciting shopping experiences, Pakistani music fans can enjoy a three-hour music marathon on Wednesday, 9 January at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The music night will feature throwback tunes by Strings who are celebrating their 30th anniversary, along with modern hits by Coke Studio sensation Ali Sethi and Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch. Tickets are on sale through QTickets, with prices ranging from QAR100 to 500.

Shop Qatar Design District Opens

Shop Qatar also launched its Design District, kicking off eight days of attractive entertainment and cultural exchange for all its visitors. Open everyday from 3 pm until 10 pm at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, the District brings a colourful showcase of local and international pop-up shops, cafes, fashion shows, workshops, masterclasses as well as engaging design dialogue all under one roof.

Running until Saturday, 12 January, the District offers visitors a wide variety of creative activities. Design enthusiasts can stay up-to-date with the latest trends at the Fashion Speakers’ Corner sessions and daily fashion shows. There will also be 12 beauty masterclasses and workshops by famous make-up artists and over 60 pop-up shops showcasing varied offerings – from professional tailoring to customisable casual wear, handcrafted clothes and home accessories to makeup.

2019 Qatar-India Year of Culture

As part of the 2019 Qatar India Year of Culture, Shop Qatar Design District is also prominently featuring Indian culture through five participating Indian fashion designers. From saris to couture, to pret-a-porter beachwear, the latest designs of Raghavendra Rathore, Raw Mango, Tarun Tahiliani, Namrata Joshipura and Wendell Rodricks will grace the Design District’s catwalk. Visitors can also buy their collections at their pop-up stores. Tickets to all Indian fashion shows are at QAR200. Bollywood singer Arjit Singh will also serenade his fans on 18 January, at the QNCC.
