The Aspire Walkabout organised by Aspire Zone Foundation got underway yesterday, inside the Aspire Dome in an effort to spur healthy lifestyle interest among residents during Ramadan.

Due to popular demand, participants will have the unique opportunity to kick the calories while utilising the indoor space of the Dome from 4-6pm and 8pm to midnight every day until Eid Al Fitr for both male and female adults. Children under the age of 16 have been asked to be accompanied by an adult.

The Aspire Walkabout includes multiple routes catering to beginners (the yellow route-500m), while a second one will include stairs for more active participants (the blue route-850m).

Abdulaziz Al-Mahmoud, the Director General of Aspire Logistics said,

It is difficult to exercise outside in the evenings at the moment without the weather not taking its toll. Our inspiration behind this initiative is to provide people with a space where they can walk around for as long as they like, alongside their families and friends and not have the worry of being too crowded or too hot.

Walking is regarded as one of the easiest and cheapest ways to exercise. Regular walking is known to reduce risk of medical conditions such as high blood pressure and heart disease and depression.
