Qatar Airways, Skytrax 2017 Airline of the Year awardee, announced its further commitment to Ireland by partnering with The Curragh following the inaugural Dublin-Doha flight recently. 

The airline’s entry into the Irish market strengthens Irish and Qatari business relationships, as well as connect Irish passengers to more than 150 destinations worldwide. Through the Irish and Qatari affinity for horses, Qatar Airways is now drawing together the cultural heritage of both nations.

Qatar Airways was also recently announced as the official airline partner of the 2017 Dublin Horse Show, further establishing strong relations with the Irish equestrian industry and business networks.

The launch of the new Dublin-Doha route provides Irish passengers with the first ever direct Dublin-Doha service, providing easier access to the Middle East, Asia and Australia, with seamless connections to Sydney, Hong Kong, Melbourne and many more attractive global destinations. Irish passengers will experience Qatar Airways’ renowned on-board service and have the opportunity to enjoy the airline’s relaunched superior entertainment system offering up to 3,000 entertainment options.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said that their team is working hard to establish and develop relationships with the Irish community. He said that they are delighted to enter the Irish market and expand their global network with the opening of the Dublin route.

Dublin is a hub for more than 1,000 leading multi-national companies and the daily non-stop service will connect both business and leisure travellers to the airline’s extensive network.

Qatar Airways will operate its daily Dublin service with a two-class configuration Boeing 787 Dreamliner, 22 seats in the Business Class and 232 seats in the Economy Class.

A Qatar-themed race day is taking place on 20 August and will include the inaugural Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Curragh Stakes. The Group 2 Qatar Airways Sapphire stakes will take place on 15 July with a total prize of €120,000.
