Texas A&M University at Qatar has recently recognized WOQOD as a strong University partner during the University’s official visit to the WOQOD headquarters. 

The collaboration between the University and WOQOD has previously focused on research and exchange of expertise, especially in the area of bitumen properties and modification.

Dr Mark H. Weichold, dean and CEO of Texas A&M at Qatar, presented Mohammed Turki Al Sobai, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of WOQOD, a plaque in appreciation of the company’s support for the University’s academic and research programs. Weichold spoke about the importance of Texas A&M at Qatar’s partnership with WOQOD and discussed future research projects and joint programmes to promote science and engineering among the young and next generation of Qatar.

Texas A&M at Qatar Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr Eyad Masad, said:

We appreciate the productive collaboration with WOQOD.  They have generously shared their technical expertise with the University and provided materials and logistical support for research projects.  We look forward to expanded future projects.’

John Small, Texas A&M at Qatar director of the Office of Strategic Partnerships and Alumni Relations, said:

Texas A&M University, recognised as having one of the premier engineering programmes in the world, has offered undergraduate degrees in chemical, electrical, mechanical and petroleum engineering at Qatar Foundation’s Education City campus since 2003, and graduate courses in chemical engineering since fall 2011. Over 400 engineers have graduated from Texas A&M at Qatar since 2007.

Mohammed Turki Al Sobai, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of WOQOD, said:
