The Art of Cocktail Making

If you are looking for something different to do on a Friday afternoon, then head on down to The Ritz-Carlton, Doha for the Art of Cocktail Making.

Last Friday, Marhaba was invited to attend the monthly Art of Cocktail Making at Habano’s. Colin McCusker, Beverage Manager, and his team were on hand to teach us some exciting combinations of flavours. A continuous flow of exciting tidbits was brought round to all the tables throughout the evening to enjoy with our cocktails.

The first cocktail of the afternoon was the Bloody Mary. Colin went through the whole process of making this famous cocktail, then it was the turn of the novices.  We all made our own versions and attempted to reproduce it as best we could. Ours was quite satisfactory though the spiciness of it definitely tantalised the taste buds!

The second cocktail was the Chocolate Espresso Martini, made with vodka, Kahlua, crème de cocoa and a double shot of espresso coffee. It was a very pleasant and smooth drink, definitely needed after the Bloody Mary.

Then there was a short break where we had a chance to nibble some more on the snacks as well as socialise and meet new people. Following this, the Classic Irish Coffee was demonstrated by Colin and then we all tried to copy this complicated drink that everyone seems to have a different version of.

Final verdict – a most entertaining evening!

Here are the ingredients given to us by Colin (they were just too yummy not to share). If you want to find out exactly how to use them, sign up for a class today. Call 4484 8000 for more information.
