The sixth edition of the Color Run in Qatar will carry the fun spirit for which the event is known for all around the world. Participants will be soaked in bright colours as they run, walk, skip or jog along the five-kilometre course with their family and friends. Everyone will celebrate their achievements at the end with prizes, music, photo opportunities, and a myriad of unforgettable moments.
Brought to the public by Sahtak Awalan: Your Health First, the flagship health campaign of WCM-Q, The Color Run aims to attract everyone in Doha to participate in an exhilarating and colourful experience to encourage them to adopt a healthy and more active lifestyle.
Nesreen Al-Rifai, Chief Communications Officer for WCM-Q, said that sports and exercise contribute to many aspects of our overall health including our mental state and skills such as creativity, intellect, and self-confidence.
We are happier when we exercise, our stress levels are lower, boosting positive energy throughout our body, which in return reshapes our state of mind, making us approach everything with a more positive attitude and determination.
This is why Sahtak Awalan: Your Health First is bringing the Color Run to Qatar for the sixth year in a row. We want to inspire the people of Qatar to fulfill their aspirations for greatness by becoming a healthy and sport-oriented nation. The event has been a constant success, with participation numbers growing on a yearly basis.’
The 2019 event was a major success, with over 9,000 runners participating in The Happiest 5k on the Planet. The 2020 edition promises to be bigger and better with even more people expected to take part. The event aims to encourage participants of all ages to be aware of the benefits of keeping fit and taking care of their well-being.
Since its inception in 2012, The Color Run has become a global phenomenon, continuing to innovate the 5k paint race genre each year. The Color Run has been experienced by more than 7 million people worldwide in 40+ countries and has donated a staggering US$5 million to charity.
