Qetaifan Projects announced their recent collaboration with creative director Giuliano Peparini, for the world-exclusive acrobatic spectacle, The Fisherman’s Dream. 

The show produced by Marco Balsamo’s Nuovo Teatro is launching on 19 November on the seawater canal at Qetaifan Island North.

The Fisherman’s Dream

The Fisherman’s Dream captures the rich history and culture of Qatar and its amazing growth over the past decades. Inspired by the famed history of Qatar’s pearl divers and their search for dana pearls, the production will be a visual spectacle featuring 65 performers – acrobats, contortionists, slack walkers and dancers – all supported by video and visual effects that will light up the sky.

According to Qetaifan Projects Chief Operating Officer Hesham Sharaf, Qetaifan Island North they are excited about this collaboration and are looking forward to the spectacular show that will be presented on the island. He said that the show represents a glimpse of what is going to happen on a daily basis, adding that the entertaining canal show is simply a teaser.

Peparini, meanwhile, shared that the production is the first of its kind in Qatar. He said that the show is about the rich history of the country from the pearl divers through to the discovery of oil and gas.

Peparini is famed for his shows around the world, recognised as one of the most prolific and eclectic directors and choreographers on the international scene. Amongst his most recognised works was the Cirque du Soleil, in collaboration with Franco Dragone for over ten years, creating shows in the USA, Italy, France and China; and with Dolce & Gabbana, for the biggest fashion shows and many television networks. His work has been seen by more than 270 million people.

The production will be performed daily from 19 November to 5 January at the Linear Park canal at Qetaifan Island North. The show is open to the public and is a wonderful opportunity for guests to see the beauty of the recently built Qetaifan Island North.
