The Ministry of Interior Qatar (MoI) won the Arab Social Responsibility Organization’s Excellence Award in recognition to the ministry’s distinctive services in all aspects especially the electronic services accessible on its website and services provided for individuals with special needs.

The Excellence gold shield was received by the Director of Public Relations Department in the annual ceremony of the Organization held at Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, UAE on 24 June 2014.

Colonel Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah expressed his pleasure on winning the excellence award in appreciation to the grand services provided by the ministry to all sectors of the society, be it citizens or residents. He affirmed that the strategic move of the Ministry is relied on its National Vision 2030. Al Muftah said:

The award is the result of joint efforts by all departments of the ministry especially the Information System Department that does their best for the customers to ease the procedures and transactions through online without visiting the concerned departments. All services provided by the General Directorate of Passports and Expatriates Affairs, Traffic Department, General Directorate of Civil Defence and other departments are now available online. Metrash2 is another unique achievement that has been enhanced with 30 more services in addition to the existing services.

The Arab Organization for Social Responsibility (AOSR) is an established organisation in the Arab region to promote social service initiatives across the region and honour the activist groups and establishments in private and public sectors, which contribute to social responsibility. The AOSR aims to encourage civil society to engage in social responsibilities and work to develop principles accorded to the improvement and development of social responsibility and support programmes in achieving sustainable development in the Arab region in strategy formation to get to the international quality standards in the areas of social responsibility.
